~ “Strive for progress, not perfection” ~
Welcome back to Fierce Fashion! How are you all? I know the site was under construction for quite a long time and I sincerely apologize. I’m a bit of a perfectionist so it was kind of a struggle trying to find the right layout and to be honest… I got a little uninspired during the last months of school. However I have finally decided that I have to relaunch the site whether it’s perfect or not!
What did I learn in College?
I don’t know if I’ve ever really gone into details about what program I was in. For those of you who don’t know, I was taking the Apparel Technology program through Olds College (The Calgary Fashion Institute). In short, we learned how to do a proper technical sketch which we then turned into a pattern in our pattern design class. After perfecting the fit of the pattern we learned all of the best sewing techniques for the garment we were creating. I learned a lot over the 2 years and I think being able to design something and sew it with proper technique, is an extremely great asset to have. I could not be more grateful to have had the opportunity to study the in’s and out’s of the design world. However, I think the most important thing I learned is that my heart lies in styling. Whether I’m styling an outfit on myself for the blog, styling a photo shoot, styling a friend, or styling clients at work… I love it all!
What’s happening with Fierce Fashion?
I want Fierce Fashion to be a place where I can express all of my favourite things. From styling my most beloved pieces of clothing, makeup and home decor to styling real people.
In addition, I don’t know about you guys but sometimes I just don’t have the time to read all of my favourite blogs, however one of my favourite things to do is to throw on a YouTube video while I’m getting ready in the morning. That being said, after the next couple of posts, I will have a written portion to every blog post and I will also have a video component. I want to give you the best of both worlds, you can read the post or watch the post. 🙂
