Welcome back to Fierce Fashion! Stampede is over and I thought I would share a few of my favourite outfits with you. I’m one of those people who grew up in Calgary and have enjoyed stampede for all 20 years of my life. I’m a diehard country fan so when stampede comes around, I go all out. Hope you enjoy 🙂
The first outfit consists of a genuine dark tanned leather skirt, a light weight, frilly white blouse and black over the knee boots. The skirt actually came from my mother who passed it on to me last winter. Although it’s more of a fall piece, I thought the colour and suede was perfect for a western look. I picked the blouse up from Zara a couple of months ago and it’s one of my favourite summer pieces. I love the weight of it and the rolled hem creating the frill effect. I paired my Steve Madden over the knee boots with this outfit for two reasons. The first reason is I find a tall boot with a mid length skirt extends the length of the leg. The second reason is simply that my cowboy boots are red and I didn’t like how they looked next to the colour of the skirt.
The second outfit was the most simple one but is probably my favourite. I paired an adorable button down denim dress with my cowboy boots, and a black bandana. I wore this outfit to the rodeo and also to see Keith Urban perform at Country Thunder in Regina. Both days and nights were absolutely gorgeous and very hot, the dress kept me comfortable and cool.
For the third look I paired my high-waisted black shorts with a simple white crop top and then simply tied a linen shirt around my waist. I’m not a fan of plaid so I used a striped shirt but you could absolutely tie a plaid shirt around your waist for an even more Canadian cowgirl look. Then to accent the white crop top I threw on a white cowboy hat and wore my classic red boots and red lip.
Till next year stampede!
